"TECMAIA is a business park that focuses on the hosting of investment and entrepreneurship projects based on the use of medium and high technology.
Committed to this purpose, it has been contributing to the municipality of Maia and to the entire Northern Region, innovation, prestige and development.
Besides the nucleus constituted by companies with a markedly technological profile, the park also integrates, in its perimeter, a diverse set of other companies, establishing a very comprehensive sectoral amplitude.
I underline that the Municipality of Maia pursues a fully sustainable development strategy, in a vision that seeks to harmoniously combine environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and, consequently, human and social development.
In order to materialize this strategic vision, there is under the direct tutelage of the Mayor, the Maia Go office, a specially dedicated structure, whose mission is to provide all the specific information and streamline the technical support facilitator of economic dynamism, with particular focus on the reception of new productive investment projects, which create qualified employment and generate wealth in our territory".

VISION AND MISSION

TECMAIA, currently managed by Espaço Municipal, EM SA, was created in 1999 with the aim of developing a science and technology park that would create a new centrality in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Porto/Maia. Since then, it has been stimulating the increase of competitiveness in the region, promoting the culture of innovation in companies and knowledge generating institutions, accelerating the transfer and commercialization, not only of technology but of innovation itself, as well as enhancing the economic and technological leadership of the country.
The attraction of technology and capital, domestic and foreign, is the main focus, in order to increase the wealth of the community.

TECMAIA is committed to promoting the competitiveness of companies and the culture of innovation in knowledge-generating institutions installed in the park, contributing to the evolution and prosperity of the economic fabric and human qualification.

BUSINESS FUNCTION
Receiving space for technology-based companies, both in industry and services, with a strong component of innovation and development.

KNOWLEDGE FUNCTION
Location of teaching and applied research institutions, as well as dynamization of specialized training activities, demonstration of new techniques and technologies in various areas of competence.

LEISURE AND WELL-BEING FUNCTION
Convergence space for residents and visitors to get closer to the information society and new technologies, through the creation of appropriate environments and adequate infrastructure for sports, leisure and well-being.

SETTLING IN TECMAIA

TECMAIA is a means of directing and harnessing the power of science and technology to increase competitiveness, thus helping local and regional economies to develop, contributing to a better overall performance of the national economy. For the development of concrete projects, namely in the areas of Entrepreneurship, R&D and Innovation Funding, TECMAIA has been establishing protocols and partnerships with several entities - regional development agencies, municipalities, development associations and higher education and training institutions.

TECMAIA is a full member of TECPARQUES - Portuguese Association of Science and Technology Parks and a "full member" of IASP - International Association of Science Parks.
The Park team stimulates and manages flows of knowledge and technology between universities, research institutions, companies and markets, seeking to foster the creation and growth of innovative companies, while providing value-added services.
The park's spaces are recognized for their high quality and versatility.

From the beginning, the Science and Technology Park of Maia has been home to hundreds of highly qualified professionals who, for this reason, lend TECMAIA its true innovative, progressive and forward-looking character. In order to better understand the recruitment policies of the companies based in our park, Espaço Municipal, as the managing entity of TECMAIA, has developed a partnership with Talent Portugal, which enables the professional categories to be identified that TECMAIA companies are looking for and are receptive to, in terms of the labour market. Using this Talent Portugal platform, therefore, job-seekers can access the portal free of charge, view the project’s partner companies and submit their curricula vitae. In a single platform, it is possible to determine the companies with which they most identify, have access to the various opportunities each of them offer and thus target the submission of their CV.
